It's cold out there.
On February 24, 2024, House of Hope will host its second annual fundraiser - the 'Coldest Night of the Year' (CNOY). It's a winterrific family-friendly walk that directly supports our neighbors experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness. All across America there has been a startling increase in homelessness - and the same is true right here in Danville. House of Hope completed an expansion in January 2023 to meet the rising need for shelter. Now we need our community's help more than ever to give people a place to stay.
Coldest Night of the Year is a chance for us to gather in the name of a common goal: helping our neighbors in need. CNOY is a bit different than your regular walk, we'll gather in late afternoon and hit the streets at around 5:00pm - just before sunset. It might be a bit chilly, it might get a little dark when you're crossing the finish line, but it's a strong reminder of the reality that some people face when they have nowhere to stay.
On February 24, walk for good. Join a team of walkers or start one yourself! Let friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, acquaintances, facebook friends, and everyone else know why you choose to walk. As they donate and support you, you'll be making a positive impact in the lives of those experiencing homelessness. You'll be a part of House of Hope, helping this crucial service to continue.
To celebrate your hard work and to help with that winter chill, after you walk we'll have hot cocoa, chili, snacks, and some time for fellowship! And as a special 'Thank You' those that fundraise $150 or more, you'll receive a CNOY hat to mark your accomplishment! (See the picture below for a sneak peek.) We hope you'll join us, visit cnoy.com/danville to get started.
