| This month, House of Hope hosted its first Annual Meeting and Appreciation Luncheon! Thank you to everyone that came out to share a meal with us and learn a bit more about the shelter. At the meeting, we elected new members to House of Hope’s Board (see the list below) and presented the above video. Also, a prior guest of House of Hope now has their own place to stay and is working fulltime, but on the side she likes to make gift baskets! She donated one of these gift baskets to House of Hope to be used in a raffle. Congratulations to Cathy from United Way on winning the raffle and a lovely and meaningful gift basket. To conclude our meeting, we took a few minutes to write down a word or two that describes what we’d like to see House of Hope illustrate in its mission to serve people experiencing homelessness. Be it ‘Hope,’ ‘kindness,’ ‘unity,’ etc. We want all of our supporters to know that House of Hope and its work is only possible because of them. So, our shelter will commit to pursuing these things as we strive to serve our neighbors. *One of the best things we can do to show support for our neighbors experiencing homelessness is to listen to their stories.
