Pardon our dust – House of Hope is expanding! We love our current facility, but the needs of our community are growing. As housing costs skyrocket, more families are struggling to find a place that they can stay. So, House of Hope is expanding to meet the need. Our current facility can house up to 16 people, when the expansion is complete, we’ll increase that number to 42 people!
The highlight of this expansion is the upstairs level (pictured above), which will be called ‘Norma’s Place’ in honor of Norma Brower – who was a pillar of the Danville community, a beloved member of our board, and worked hard to make Danville a better place. The Norma’s Place expansion will provide refuge and support services to women, single moms and their children experiencing homelessness.
We are very happy to say that construction has started! You’ll see electricians, plumbers, framers, and construction crews of all sorts in and out of the shelter over the next few months. There is a lot of work ahead, but we are so excited for this much-needed expansion to begin and we hope that you are too. As Norma’s Place takes shape, we will continue to keep all our supporters updated on its progress.
