Transportation is a major barrier for many of our guests. While we are able to offer bus tokens to fill some transportation needs – sometimes the bus isn’t the best option. So, being able to get people to the places they need to go has been a significant gap in our services for a while now. Which is why we were so excited when the Danville-Pittsylvania Community Services Board reached out to us about a vehicle they were going to be retiring from their fleet and would like to donate to us! While we can’t take everybody everywhere, this is a great opportunity for us to be able get people to those last-second doctor’s appointments, job interviews, apartment applications, and other critical services.
We are so thankful to our friends at DPCS for thinking of us. We are excited to get this car on the road and providing transportation for people that could really use some!
